As of September 2026, Pocket is rolling out as a free standalone Meta app on iOS and Android, with prompt creation, an editor, profiles, playlists and a social feed for interactive gizmos.

Still unclear or easy to confuse
Meta’s help pages describe exporting a copy of your Pocket information. That is not the same as exporting a gizmo’s source code or producing a standalone game build. We found no first-party documentation promising general code export, web export, app-store packaging or a creator-revenue program.
Why the Gizmo connection matters
Pocket comes from the team and technology behind the earlier Gizmo app. That history explains both the word “gizmo” and the feed-first design. It does not mean every feature, policy or account from the earlier product automatically carries over to Pocket.
What to watch next
The important signals are not raw download numbers but platform depth: external sharing, creator analytics, moderation rules, export options and monetization. We will treat each as unconfirmed until Meta documents it.

Pocket's official listing describes a platform for creating and sharing “gizmos” from natural-language descriptions. It highlights touch, tilt, sound, camera or photo use, profiles, playlists and remix-friendly discovery. Those confirmed capabilities support compact social experiences; they do not automatically establish conventional source export, desktop builds or creator monetization.
What to verify as the product changes
- Regional and device availability on the current official store listing.
- Whether projects can be downloaded or only published inside Pocket.
- Current ownership, remixing and commercial-use language.
- Any limits on generated content, music, photos or camera features.
- Whether a creator program or external distribution path is officially documented.
For now, the safest mental model is a fast social creative platform rather than a drop-in replacement for Unity, Godot or a browser-game workspace. That distinction protects creators from planning around features that have not been confirmed.
Build a 30-second interaction with one phone-native input, publish it, and observe whether people understand, replay or remix it. Keep the mechanic specification outside the platform so a successful idea can be reconstructed elsewhere if needed.
